The Haifa Hub is a unique force of innovation in the medical industry, with access to reputable medical research centers and several emerging partnerships with companies in eastern Africa. Haifa Hub will collaborate with Sheba Medical Center, a world leader in medical services, center for excellence in research and innovation, established in 1948. The state-of-the-art facility is situated on a 150-acre campus at Tel Hashomer, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, and compromises 159 medical departments and clinics, 1,700 beds, and an additional 33 laboratories. The Sheba Medical Center is internationally recognized for its achievements in clinical excellence, as well as in the application and conduct medical research. Sheba was the first hospital in Israel to be awarded the Joint Commission International Gold Seal. As a high-end medical center, it is the largest one in the Middle East and works collaterally with other world renowned medical institutions. Sheba has served prominent figures such as former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and former President Shimon Perez. Haifa Hub has the requisite network to enrich Sheba’s involvement in Eastern Africa. The Sheba Medical Center has the ability to help advance Haifa Hub’s medical cities, will complement the hub’s contributions, creating a symbiotic relationship. Sheba’s cutting-edge research in the medical tourism space will also amplify and enhance Haifa Hub’s services. The Sheba Medical Center has provided care, supplies, and expertise across the world and aid to countries including Kosovo, Armenia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Peru, and Rwanda. Sheba is working to further expand its services to Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean and is actively involved in the construction of hospitals and implementation of medical training in Africa and Eastern Europe. Currently, the Sheba Medical Center is engaged with more than 25% of all contemporary Israeli clinical research.
